  • CONSULTATIONS

During your initial 75-minute-long consultation, we'll conduct a thorough case history covering details about your diet, lifestyle, stress, and environmental exposures. Esther may recommend functional laboratory tests, which can include unique techniques like adrenal, metabolic, or reproductive hormonal tests or microbiome testing, in addition to conventional tests. Participation in these tests is optional, and costs will be discussed during the consultation. If tests are conducted, a follow-up appointment will be necessary before releasing results. As active participants in your healthcare, you may be advised to make lifestyle changes, such as adjustments to your sleep routine, diet, and exercise habits.

  • EVALUATION OF PROTOCOL

The evaluation may involve clinical and laboratory test results assessment. Your personalised protocol could include clinical nutrition, nutritional counselling, dietary and herbal supplements, and lifestyle coaching. Although protocols aim for safety, it's important to note that any recommendation, especially regarding supplements, may carry minimal risks of adverse effects. While uncommon, possible side effects could include intolerances, allergic reactions, or gastrointestinal disturbances (like stomach upset, heartburn, diarrhoea, or constipation). If you experience any adverse effects, please report them to me promptly.

  • CONFIDENTIALITY

The confidentiality of my clients is treated seriously at Nutrition Wellness Lifestyle. There are, however, some limits and exceptions to confidentiality. If your Nutritional Therapist has serious concerns about your safety or the safety of another person, our confidentiality policy may be adjusted.

Information about you disclosed during your sessions or in the pre-consultation forms will be kept confidential.

At your initial consultation you will be asked to provide your GP’s contact details, as someone we may contact.

Esther keeps a record of your name, contact details and dates and times of your appointments. Esther is required to keep brief notes about the focus of your work, which are kept securely. Any reports produced by Nutrition Wellness Lifestyle to evaluate the service contain anonymised data. Please refer to our Privacy Policy on our website for more details.

Recording consultations using any form of electronic media is not allowed without the written permission of both you and Esther.

  • COMMUNICATION & TRANSPARENCY

Inform your GP about any recommended protocols and lifestyle changes, and keep Esther informed about your medications. Avoid self-administering high doses of nutrients and herbs without supervision due to potential toxic effects and interactions. Stick to agreed-upon timeframes for dietary or supplement programs and obtain GP approval for major diet changes. Don't alter GP-prescribed medications without consent. For safety, permit contact with your GP, if necessary, with the opportunity for your review before any correspondence is sent.

  • CONSULTATION FEES

Esther's fees comprise a £150.00 initial visit fee for a comprehensive seventy-five-minute session (1 hour 15 minutes), which is inclusive if you've enrolled in one of the other programs (e.g., The Standard or Advanced) that include respective follow up visits - see Packages for more details.

Additional optional follow-up visits outside of the programs can be arranged for either 30 or 45 minutes at an extra cost. Please note that fees are subject to change without prior notice.

  • PAYMENTS

Full payment is required at the time of booking your initial consultation unless a payment plan has been selected. Payments can be made by card via the online payment system. A debit or credit card number will be requested at the time of booking when booking online.

If your therapist creates the booking/package for you, an invoice will be sent to you that is required to be paid in advance.

Instalment payment plans are available for the 3-month and 6-month programs only.

  • ADDITIONAL CHARGES

Additional charges apply for written reports analysing functional test results or letters and reports sent to doctors, etc. The time taken to prepare these reports or letters is billable at a pro-rata rate of £150 per hour.

If in exceptional circumstances the total time of the follow-up consultation should run less or more than allocated time, then you will be invoiced pro-rata at £150 per hour.

Note: Clients who have any type of functional testing done must have the results reviewed within a follow up consultation before the test results are released.

  • TIMEFRAMES

All programs run for a minimum of 12-weeks from initial consultation.

Any agreed programs that will run beyond the 3 month (12-weeks) must be completed within 6 months, upon booking.

  • INSURANCE CLAIMS

You acknowledge that while certain insurance policies may cover consultation costs, it's the client's responsibility to verify and claim coverage. Esther requires full payment for consultations and tests at the time of service. Tests, supplements are not included in the initial fees. If you have questions about specific fees, tests, or supplements, feel free to ask for clarification.

  • WORKING WITH MULTIPLE THERAPISTS

Esther may suggest you see other registered therapists to support your goals. Information about your symptoms and condition will be discussed between Esther and other therapists so that we can provide you with a co-ordinated therapy plan. Esther will ask for your informed consent to share information with the other registered therapists and ask if there is anything that you want to remain confidential. Esther will help you assimilate any information gathered from other registered therapists.

  • CLINIC POLICIES (Face-to face or via Zoom).

Please arrive promptly for your in-person consultation. It is your responsibility to have a working internet connection for all Zoom sessions. You will be charged for the scheduled sessions if Esther is waiting for your attendance or call for more than 10 minutes and is unable to reach you.

  • CANCELLATIONS and NO-SHOWS

Esther appreciates that circumstances can change. If you do need to cancel an appointment at short notice, please let your Nutritional Therapist (Esther) know at the earliest convenience so we can reschedule your appointment. You can do this by emailing: hello@nutritionwellnesslifestyle.com

Where applicable, it is your responsibility to have a working internet connection for consultations via Zoom. Full consultation charges will apply for scheduled sessions that are unable to connect.

A 15-minute wait time frame will be applied to all sessions. Once 15 minutes of your appointment has elapsed, and you haven't arrived at your session, the session will be ended and will be classed a 'no-show'.

If you no-show for your appointment, you will be sent another invite to book a new session which will be deducted from your package. Refunds and reschedule options will not be offered for no-shows.

I welcome consultations with clients under 18, but they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

If you are having a problem with your consultation, or the service, you may raise this by emailing Esther who will support you in finding a resolution.

  • SCOPE OF PRACTICE

Nutrition Wellness Lifestyle practices in accordance with the General Naturopathic Council (GNC), and Association Of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP).

Nutritional Therapy is a tailored approach to using nutritional science to boost health, enhance performance, and provide personalised care. Practitioners utilise a range of methods to pinpoint nutritional imbalances that may be linked to symptoms. By understanding these imbalances, individuals can work together with practitioners to attain a healthier nutritional balance, promoting overall well-being. Acknowledged as complementary medicine, Nutritional Therapy proves advantageous not only for individuals dealing with chronic conditions but also for those aiming to receive guidance in improving their health and enhancing their general well-being.

At the heart of my approach is the recognition that each person is unique. Practitioners do not believe in a 'one size fits all' solution; instead, they tailor personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes for individuals. It's important to note that we never suggest nutritional therapy as a substitute for medical advice. If a client shows 'red flag' signs or symptoms, practitioners always refer them to their medical professional. In fact, practitioners often collaborate with medical professionals, ensuring transparent communication to explain any nutritional therapy programme provided in the context of the client's overall care.

FOR CLIENTS TO NOTE

The degree of benefit obtainable from Nutritional Therapy may vary between clients with similar health problems and following a similar Nutritional Therapy programme.

• Nutritional advice will be tailored to support health conditions and/or health concerns identified and agreed between both parties.

• Nutritional therapists are not permitted to diagnose, or claim to treat, medical conditions.

• Nutritional advice is not a substitute for professional medical advice and/or treatment.

• Esther may recommend food supplements and/or functional testing as part of your Nutritional Therapy programme. These are optional but will have an additional cost associated with them which will be shared with you.

Standards of professional practice in Nutritional Therapy are governed by the CNHC Code of Conduct. This document only covers the practice of Nutritional Therapy within this consultation, and your practitioner will make it clear if he or she intends to step outside this boundary.

CLIENT UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES

• Take responsibility for contacting my GP about any health concerns.

• Give permission for you to contact my GP regarding any agreed aspects of my case.

• Disclose if I am receiving treatment from my GP, or any other medical provider, I should inform them about any nutritional strategy provided by my nutritional therapist. This is necessary because of any possible reaction between medication and the nutritional programme.

• Tell Esther (my nutritional therapist) about any medical diagnosis, medication, herbal medicine, or food supplements, I am taking as this may affect the nutritional programme.

• Contact Esther promptly for clarification if I am unclear about the agreed nutritional therapy programme/food supplement doses/time.
